Chamber Orchestra «Provincia» performed its first musical program on February, 25, 1989. The orchestra has recorded 10 CDs. Among transcriptions of Igor Lerman, the founder, the artistic director and the conductor of Chamber Orchestra, the records include the musical compositions of Bach, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Bartok, Hindemith, Shostakovich, Schnittke, Piazzolla.

The following artists performed with the Orchestra at different periods: Elena Obraztsova, Nicolay Petrov, Victor Tretyakov, Alexander Kniazev, Borodin’s quartet and many others.

On November, 21, 2007, a collaborative performance took place – Chamber Orchestra «Provincia» and Chamber Orchestra «Virtuozy Moskvy» under conduction of Vladimir Spivakov.

The repertoire of the Orchestra «Provincia» is vast and many-sided from baroque music to contemporary ones. The considerable part of it consists of the transcriptions of Igor Lerman.

The Orchestra often performs in towns and cities of Tatarstan.  They were a great success in Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Poland, Germany at different International Musical Festivals in: St.Petersburg, Kislovodsk, Kaliningrad, Perm. During three seasons Chamber orchestra was a great success in Spain.

After some Russian tours, according to the opinion of the enthusiastic press and responses of a large audience, the Orchestra was named to be one of the best Russian Chamber Orchestras.

«Unprovincial «Provincia», this is the headline of the article in one of the Russian newspapers. «The Mastery is perfect, the transcriptions are magnificent, made on a very high level, real great art», «High-pitched return of the conductor and the Orchestra influence greatly». «I know this orchestra long ago, I think, it is one of the best chamber orchestras in Russia» (Vladimir Ivanov, Moscow Conservatoire professor). These are the words of the greatest singer Elena Obraztsova after performance with Chamber Orchestra «Provincia»: «I am 43 years on stage; this is one of the best orchestras I have ever performed». «There is now anywhere such an orchestra as «Provincia». You do not even compare it, whether it is better ore worse. Now other orchestra plays as this one does» (Irina Bochkova, Moscow Conservatoire professor).
